At the Disclosure and Barring Service, fair and effective reward is central to how we support colleagues and deliver our safeguarding mission. As Pay and Reward Lead, you will strengthen that foundation by providing expert advice on pay, benefits and recognition and guiding the development of a competitive, compliant and future-focused reward offer.
You will provide senior leadership across pay and reward, leading the annual pay remit, interpreting guidance and shaping proposals for senior decision makers. Acting as the main escalation point for complex queries, you will work closely with HR colleagues, our payroll provider and external partners to resolve issues and enhance delivery.
You will also steer salary and benefits benchmarking, evolve our reward and recognition arrangements and contribute to wider organisational development through insight and analysis.
About you
You will have a CIPD level 5 qualification or be working towards this or possess equivalent professional experience.
You will also have experience in a specialist reward and benefits role or an HR/OD/People analytical role.
Previous experience of working in an operational HR team is equally important.

The DBS is an accredited Disability Confident Employer, and we are an equal opportunities employer, welcoming suitably qualified applicants from all backgrounds. We recruit by merit on the basis of fair and open competition, as outlined in the Civil Service Commission's recruitment principles.
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) issues more than 4 million DBS checks every year, providing information to employers and organisations, so they can prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups including children.
We also make complex decisions about whether to bar somebody from getting jobs in certain sectors. There are currently circa 80,000 people who are not allowed to work with children or vulnerable adults.
Our disclosure office is based in Liverpool, and our barring office is based in Darlington.
