Salary: SCS 1, c£92,000
HM Land Registry is seeking an outstanding HR leader to join us as Deputy Director, HR (HR Operations). This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly created HR Group leadership team, working collaboratively, to guide the vision and strategic direction of HR in one of the UK’s most important public bodies, ensuring our people, culture and services are equipped to deliver our ambitious 2025+ strategy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading continuous improvement and future transformation of People related operations and policy, guiding how we deliver HR services to support a high-performance culture. They will oversee major operational and policy activity, and champion a culture of continuous improvement and inclusion. They will work across the organisation to ensure HR priorities are aligned with corporate objectives, providing expert leadership on industrial relations, people transformation and operational excellence.

Strong expertise in employee/industrial relations, HR policy, and people operations.

A track record of delivering large‑scale HR transformation.

Experience of managing budgets, contracts and risks effectively.

Proven ability to drive culture change, build capability and develop future leaders.

A Chartered Membership of CIPD with a willingness to progress to Chartered Fellow.
This role can be based in any of HM Land Registry’s national locations. The role includes regular travel across England and Wales and operates within HM Land Registry’s hybrid model (60% office attendance).
