Part-time (3 days) | New Covent Garden Market, London SW8 | £50,000 for 3 days (about £83,000 full-time equivalent) | Bonus, BUPA, pension and free juice
Squish makes fresh juice for some of London's best bars and hotels, and we're growing the team rapidly. We want an experienced HR leader as our first Head of People: someone who hires well, welcomes people properly and keeps our culture strong as the team gets bigger.
Who We Are
We started in 2017 and now supply venues including the Savoy, the Connaught and the Ritz. We're moving into cocktail mixers for hospitality and retail, here and across Europe.
There are 16 of us, around half in operations at New Covent Garden and half in the office. Everyone who's been with us more than two years is still here. There's plenty of hiring ahead.
The Role
This is a new role. You'll report to our Managing Director, with Mondays and Wednesdays on site and the third day flexible.
Recruitment: own hiring from start to finish, define every role properly before it's advertised, and treat every candidate with care.
Retention and inductions: be the gracious host for every new starter, running inductions and probation so people feel welcome and want to stay.
Managers: coach our managers and give them confidence going into difficult conversations.
Culture, comms and team events: keep one way of working as the team spreads out, and own internal comms and team events.
Who You Are
At least 10 years in HR, including time as a senior generalist or Head of HR.
Pragmatic, risk-weighted judgement, with no shortcuts where a protected characteristic or the law is involved.
Warmth and high standards, in equal measure. People turn to you, and you hold the line when it matters.
An AI-first approach. You use AI to get more done, and you know when to put it down and talk to someone.
CIPD Level 7 or Chartered Member (MCIPD) preferred. Equivalent senior experience is just as welcome.
How To Apply
Email your CV and a cover letter to jobs@squish.co.uk with "Head of People" in the subject line. Please include your notice period and salary expectations.
We reply to everyone who applies, and we'll send you the full role description. We welcome applications from everyone. You must have the right to work in the UK.
We look forward to hearing from you.
