We’re seeking an experienced Interim HR Business Partner to cover a  period of maternity leave for 12 months and work closely with senior leaders and managers across assigned business areas, providing guidance, coaching, and practical support on a wide range of people-related activity.

 You’ll help implement directorate people plans, support employee engagement and development, and contribute to cyclical initiatives including salary reviews, succession planning, and surveys. Working collaboratively with recruitment and finance colleagues, you’ll help forecast future resourcing needs and ensure alignment with wider organisational goals.

 This role requires confidence in handling complex employee relations matters, from wellbeing and absence to performance and grievance, always favouring early intervention and tailored advice.

 As our HR Business Partner you will build strong relationships with managers and create space for informal resolution, promoting best outcomes through coaching rather than policy alone.

 You’ll keep up to date with employment legislation and use your insights to influence decisions, manage risk and ensure fairness. You’ll also engage with external providers when needed, including legal advisors and occupational health support.

 To succeed, you’ll bring strong generalist HR experience, proven knowledge of employment law, and excellent communication and analytical skills. You’ll be CIPD qualified (or equivalent) with a calm, empathetic approach and the ability to balance diplomacy with decisive action will be key.
