At the Royal Household we have a unique and special purpose - supporting the Sovereign in serving the UK and Commonwealth to help shape a better World. Joining our exceptional HR team as a Senior People Partner offers a chance to advance your career in a role shaped by complexity, impact, and meaningful contribution.

You'll support a large cross-functional department - responsible for hospitality, housekeeping, catering, operations, and events. These teams are at the very heart of our organisation, delivering services and experiences that are frequently visible on the world stage.

Leading a small team, you’ll be the go-to partner for leaders to enable a range of outcomes:

  •  Strategic partner – collaborate closely with leaders to help shape the people agenda and influence key decisions and plans with sound, people-focused advice and metrics.
  •  Trusted advisor – provide expert guidance on people policy and practice, support complex people management matters as well as advise and personally support managers with employee relations casework
  •  Champion values and culture - ensure our values are embedded and help to shape and uphold a positive work environment, championing inclusion, wellbeing and engagement.
  •  Workforce strategy – support organisation and job design, succession planning and help shape and deliver diversity strategies.
  •  Build capability – coach leaders, build people management capability, and help identify skill gaps.

Collaborating across a matrixed HR team, you’ll contribute to organisation-wide projects and policy development, while also shaping bespoke solutions that address the specific needs of your department.

Covering sites in London, Windsor and Edinburgh, this is a highly visible and client-facing role. No two days will be the same and your remit will be fast paced, but full of rewarding challenge.  We don't stand still here; and your expertise will make an impact at the heart of this world-famous institution.

Essential Criteria:

  • Currently operating in a Business Partner role, you’ll bring a confident, credible and consultative approach to working with senior leaders.
  • Skilled in coaching, offering constructive challenge, and delivering pragmatic, empathetic solutions to complex people issues.
  • A strong generalist knowledge base, in-depth knowledge of employment law and lots of experience managing complex casework, you’ve developed resilience and sound judgement.
  • Adept at using and presenting people data to inform decisions and evidence impact.
  • Enjoy managing and mentoring ambitious HR professionals to deliver great outcomes and develop talent.
  • At your best working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you can navigate a matrixed environment with ease.
  • Organised and pro-active, you can juggle a varied workload, effectively balancing strategic and operational priorities.

In addition, if you have worked with operational teams to embed diversity and inclusion strategies, and/or support wellbeing, we’re keen to hear about your experience.
