HR Manager – Newark and Lincolnshire (dual sites) - circa £55,000 + excellent benefits - Hybrid working (3 office and 2 WFH)

Your new company
This is a growing business in the heart of the UK’s food supply chain. Part of an Irish group with operations throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe, South Africa and North America.
This role is for 2 of the businesses’ in the supply chain and manufacturing arena.

Your new role
This is a BRAND-NEW role in the business, reporting to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

This is very much an “operational role” with added strategic input as your role grows.

Initially, you will review the current organisational state and examine if it is fit for purpose and then design a plan for HR “best practice”, providing expertise on people issues and support the implementation of the HR Strategy.

This role will be very “hands on” being the sole-trusted HR advisory representative for the 2 sites within the business.
You will be involved in:

  • Ensuring legislation is up to date within the HR policies.
  • Manage and support disciplinary and grievance and other ER issues within the company.
  • Ensure that managers are upskilled to understand grievance/disciplinary/performance and management processes.
  • Manage the recruitment and onboarding process of new employees.
  • Manage leavers/ exit interviews.
  • Implement training and development across the sites.
  • Create a robust structure for performance reviews/ management and ensure the correct training is carried out to the ELT to progress this.
  • Monitor absence to determine trends and route cause.
  • Managing complex long term sickness cases across both sites.
  • Responsible for the management and development of the new online HR system, ensuring data is captured accurately, and the system is developed to its full potential bringing efficiencies.
  • Manage the occupational health, pension and other employee benefit and engagement schemes.
  • Work with senior management to determine and implement training/development/succession plans and identify career opportunities to assist with up-skilling and retention of the workforce.

What you'll need to succeed

You will ideally:

  • Have held a post at HR management level within a company.
  • Proven record of leading, delivering and embedding new innovative practices and a continuous improvement culture.
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring senior/management.
  • Be a skilled communicator with the ability to influence, motivate and enable collaborative working.
  • Experience of handing sensitive personal and complex data.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong influencing skills, able to motivate others.
  • Ideally a relevant HR qualification or demonstratable level of experience
