Hays HR is delighted to be supporting a not-for-profit organisation on the recruitment of an HR Advisor to join them on a permanent basis, reporting to the HR Business Partner. This role will support the HRBP on implementing a new HR system and being the first point of contact within HR, providing high-quality support and advice to managers across the organisation.
Your new role
- Provide first line HR advice on policies, procedures and UK employment legislation
- Support low level ER casework, including absence management, performance and disciplinary matters
- Prepare HR documentation such as letters, meeting notes and outcome records
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee records in line with GDPR requirements
- Support the implementation and embedding of a new HR system
- Produce HR reports and metrics (e.g. absence, turnover, workforce data)
- Support recruitment, onboarding, probation and leaver processes
- Assist with reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures
- Coach and support managers to build confidence in managing people fairly and consistently
- Provide general HR administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the HR function
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in an HR Coordinator or HR Advisor role
- Exposure to employee relations processes
- Experience using HR systems and maintaining accurate data
- A good working knowledge of UK employment law
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to advise managers
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Involvement in an HR system implementation or improvement project
- Working towards CIPD Level 5 (or willing to work towards it)
