We are partnering with a progressive and community-focused organisation to recruit a Senior HR Advisor to join their proactive and well-regarded HR function. This is an exciting opportunity to work at a senior advisory level while contributing to key organisational initiatives that directly support workforce wellbeing, service delivery and long-term strategic goals.
The Opportunity is a broad, genuinely generalist role offering excellent exposure across the full HR life cycle. Acting as a trusted partner to managers and senior stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality HR service while supporting the implementation of people-focused strategies.Working closely with the Head of HR, you will lead on complex casework, contribute to organisational change programmes and take ownership of key HR projects aligned to wider business objectives. You will also support and mentor junior members of the team, ensuring high standards of service delivery across the function.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert HR advice across a wide range of complex employee relations issues, ensuring best practice and compliance with employment legislation
  • Lead on and manage complex casework including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence cases.
  • Support, coach and develop HR Advisors, providing guidance on their caseloads and professional development.
  • Contribute to the design, review and implementation of HR policies, procedures and systems to ensure they remain fit for purpose and compliant.
  • Deliver key HR projects, including those aligned to organisational strategy and workforce planning
  • Design and facilitate training sessions and workshops for managers on HR related topics
  • Support organisational change initiatives, including restructures and TUPE processes
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders, trade unions and internal partners
  • Monitor developments in employment law and HR best practice, advising on potential impacts and required changes


About You

  • You will be an experienced Senior HR professional with a strong generalist background and a proven ability to operate confidently at both strategic and operational levels.
  • To succeed in this role, you will bring:
  • Significant experience managing complex employee relations cases and providing high-level HR advice
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience supporting organisational change and delivering HR projects
  • Previous experience mentoring or managing junior HR team members
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach
  • CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent) qualification, or working towards
  • Experience within a unionised or public sector environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
