Are you an experienced Employee Relations professional looking for your next challenge?

My NHS Trust client are seeking an experienced, proactive and highly motivated Associate ER Partner to join our People and Workforce team on a permanent basis.

Reporting into the Senior ER Partner, you will be working specifically on medical HR cases (MHPS) ensuring effective and efficient case management for all medical and dental employee relations cases.


YOUR ROLE

  • Providing expert advice on complex MHPS employee relations cases, including disciplinary, capability, grievance, sickness absence, performance management and workplace conflict.
  • Supporting managers to manage cases effectively, fairly and consistently, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and NHS policies.
  • Providing advice on complex and sensitive employment matters, including cases involving professional conduct and employee well being.
  • Supporting formal hearings and investigations, including advising managers throughout the process.
  • Working collaboratively with HR Business Partners and wider People teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality service.
  • Building strong and effective relationships with managers, senior leaders, staff representatives and recognised trade unions.
  • Providing advice and support during organisational change, restructures and workforce transformation programmes.
  • Identifying trends and themes within employee relations data and using these insights to inform workforce priorities and interventions.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of employee relations policies, procedures and guidance.
  • Delivering training, coaching and development sessions to managers to strengthen their confidence and capability in managing people effectively.
  • Ensuring that employee relations practices promote equality, diversity, inclusion and fairness.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in employment legislation, NHS guidance and best practice.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Significant experience working within an Employee Relations, HR or People function.
  • A strong background in MHPS case management (medical)
  • Experience in managing or supervising ER Advisors
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and its practical application.
  • Experience advising managers and senior leaders on challenging people issues.
  • Experience of working constructively with recognised trade unions and staff representatives.
  • Excellent investigation, influencing, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
  • The ability to interpret complex information and provide clear, pragmatic and proportionate advice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload and competing priorities.
  • A confident and professional approach, with the ability to challenge constructively when required.
  • A commitment to confidentiality, integrity and professional standards.
