Henlee Resourcing is working in partnership with this niche manufacturing business based in Swindon to recruit a Payroll and Benefits Contractor for 3-6 months. The role can be office, hybrid or mostly remote based with odd days in Swindon and the company is prepared to look a somebody on a part or full time basis.

The purpose of the role is to provide hands-on operational support for the payroll and benefits transition from the current entity to a new entity / organisation, ensuring accuracy, compliance and continuity throughout the changeover period.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Transition Support

  • Assist in managing the payroll cut-off dates and alignment with the new systems
  • Coordinate with internal and external payroll providers to ensure seamless data migration and setup
  • Support PAYE reference updates and IT system integration

Benefits Administration

  • Collaborate with benefits providers (Mercer, Hargreaves Lansdown, AXA, etc.) to confirm scope and setup of core and flexible benefits
  • Support market benchmarking and sourcing of alternative benefit propositions
  • Assist in defining and documenting the new benefits policy

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with internal HR teams, finance, and procurement to ensure alignment
  • Support employee consultation processes for both core and flexible benefits

Project Coordination

  • Track progress against deadlines and flag overdue or at-risk items
  • Maintain documentation and update action trackers
  • Attend relevant meetings and provide operational input

Soft skills / attributes

  • Exceptional attention to detail – critical for payroll accuracy and benefits setup
  • Strong organisational skills – able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Clear communicator – comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels
  • Problem-solving mindset – proactive in identifying and resolving issues
  • Discreet and professional – handling sensitive employee data with integrity
