Job Advertisement: Sickness Absence Manager (6–12 Month Contract)
Location: London – NHS Trust
Contract Length: 6 to 12 months
Day Rate: £250-270 (Inside IR35)

We are working exclusively with an NHS Trust in London who are looking to bring in a sickness absence taskforce!  You will join as part of a specially formed team to help tackle long term sickness absence.  We will be looking to recruit approximately 5-7 individuals as part of this project.

This is a key role focused on supporting the organisation in reducing sickness absence levels and improving overall staff wellbeing and attendance.

This role will be heavily output focussed, with the expectation that there will be a significant improvement at the end of the 12 month period. 

Key Responsibilities:

Help drive through your allocated caseload, moving cases along and bringing them to completion Provide expert advice and support to managers on complex sickness absence cases, including long-term absence and frequent short-term absence. Working with your allocated department and line managers Work closely with Occupational Health, HR Business Partners, and line managers to develop and implement effective case management strategies. Monitor sickness absence trends and produce regular reports and insights for senior management. Support the implementation of attendance management policies and procedures across the Trust. Requirements:

Proven experience managing sickness absence in a complex organisation, preferably within the NHS Strong understanding of employment legislation and NHS terms and conditions related to sickness and absence. Confident in liaising with multiple stakeholders and managing sensitive cases with discretion and professionalism. Excellent analytical and reporting skills.

Additional Details:

Based in London with some flexibility (onsite will be required, likely a minimum of 3 days per week). £250–£270 per day (Inside IR35). Immediate start preferred. We will be looking for people who are able to start within 1-2 weeks’ notice, have a proven track record within sickness absence and will be committed for the whole duration of the contract.
